Gaining certification approval in the civil & military aviation, business VIP jet and helicopter markets can be a complex business.

SWS Certification Services Ltd are a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 21 approved Design Organisation (DOA ref. EASA.21J.124), which prides itself on having the expertise and experience to guide and support our clients through the design, development, certification, test and approval stages of their projects.

We have a close working relationship with EASA and are qualified to provide airworthiness approvals for Minor design changes, repairs and Supplementary Type Certificates (STCs) for large and small aeroplanes and rotorcraft in the following areas:-

A Typical Client Support Package includes:-

  1. Project Manage the Design and Certification process to achieve project goals ‘on time’ and ‘within budget’.
  2. Liaise with Regulators, Engineering, Manufacturers and Installers to support the Certification and Approval process.
  3. Undertake design and feasibility studies to identify any areas of Regulatory non-compliance within a given product’s design and/or company’s working practices.
  4. Prepare a Certification Plan detailing the actions needed to prove compliance to the Regulators.
  5. Carry out analysis, assessments and testing.  Preparing and compliance verifying specifications, drawings, plans, reports and compliance documentation.
  6. Resolve compliance and technical issues through liaising direct with the Regulators, on your behalf, to minimise any subsequent queries, delays and any on-cost to you.
  7. Prepare and submit a Compliance package to the regulators.
  8. Complete design and certification, leading to airworthiness approval in accordance with the applicable type-certification basis and environmental protection requirements.

Design

SWS have extensive experience, capability and flexibility to design and certify a simple antenna installation on a Robinson helicopter to a cabin reconfiguration on an Airbus A380. Bespoke and unique new seat concepts to crew rest areas and galley modifications, SWS will achieve exceptional results which we strongly believe will exceed our clients’ expectations.

Modifications

As a privilege under the SWS DOA approval, we can provide internal approval for minor design changes (modifications) to Type design and minor repairs in a quick and effective process, without the direct involvement of the regulator. For major design changes our tried and tested STC process and good working relationship with EASA, will ensure we meet our customer timescales, quality and budget requirements.
